2007 LOC/CIS SAFETY & WELLNESS AWARDS
Presented Friday, September 28, 2007 at the LOC Annual Conference in Bend.

In recognition of cities making great strides in their risk management programs the League of Oregon Cities has, for a number of years, recognized through its City County Insurance Services Program achievements made in employee safety. Additionally, 2007 marked the fifth consecutive year awards were presented to cities for outstanding participation and promotion of Healthy Benefits.

In 2007, a large number of safe and healthy cities with very strong and successful programs were recognized. The goal was to acknowledge and recognize all cities that had established successful safety and Healthy Benefits programs that ended the year with a good rating.

Safety Award Criteria
Cities compete with cities of similar size within one of six population groups. Winners are entities having the lowest Injury Frequency Rate* (IFR) within each group. A gold medal represents cities with zero time loss days (or if there are no cities with zero in a particular group, the city with the fewest time loss days).

Gold Perfect or nearly perfect: Injury Frequency Rate = 0, or your city is the best of your employee population group
Silver Excellent: Injury Frequency Rate = less than 3.64
Bronze Good: Injury Frequency Rate = 3.65-7.37.
*The IFR is a calculation of number of lost-time injuries times 200,000 work hours divided by total annual hours worked by all people in the entity.

Wellness Award Criteria
The criteria for receiving a wellness award is based on the percentage of employees enrolled in the CIS Healthy Benefits Program during FY 2007-2008.
Gold 100%
Silver 90-99%
Bronze 80-89%

Congratulations to all the winners!
